The Essen Discovery Tour combines an informative city tour by bus with a relaxing boat trip on the beautiful Lake Baldeney. During this tour, you’ll have the chance to discover Essen both from an open-top convertible bus and from the sun deck of one of the Weiße Flotte Baldeney’s electric boats, and to enjoy the city from different perspectives.
After setting off by bus from the main railway station, you’ll reach Lake Baldeney after a short journey. At the Hügel jetty, you’ll transfer to the boat. There, you can feel the breeze on your face or enjoy the relaxed atmosphere on the water over a cup of coffee and a slice of cake.
During the round trip of just under two hours across the Ruhr’s largest reservoir, you’ll experience nature and impressive views of the surrounding area. After exactly 2 hours and 15 minutes, the bus will pick you up again at the jetty to continue the exciting tour through Essen.
This combined tour is ideal for anyone who wants to explore the city whilst also experiencing nature. The total duration of the tour is approximately 4 hours and 15 minutes.
Please note:
There are no toilets on the bus. However, toilet facilities are available on the boat. It’s also advisable to bring plenty of sun protection, especially in summer.
